Transition to Transformation – A Letter from our Board

Dear Friends of Na’ah Illahee Fund,

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to take a moment to reflect with gratitude on this past season of transformative transition at Na’ah Illahee Fund. Our organization has navigated significant changes, and it is the strength and dedication of our board, staff, and community that continue to guide us forward.

We are especially grateful to Bridget Ray, who has faithfully served Na’ah Illahee Fund for over a decade as a member of our Board of Directors. Most recently, Bridget has carried the responsibility of Interim Board President with great care and wisdom. As she steps down from this role, she will continue to support us as a member-at-large until our board recruits new members to fill her position. We thank Bridget for her unwavering commitment to the organization and to the vision of thriving Indigenous communities.

With deep appreciation for Bridget’s leadership, we are also pleased to announce that the Board has voted to welcome Laura John as our new Board President. Laura brings a wealth of experience, grounded values, and vision to her leadership role, and we look forward to the path ahead with her guidance.

Additionally, we are honored to officially appoint Lisa Fruichantie as the permanent Executive Director of Na’ah Illahee Fund. This marks the first leadership transition in our organization’s 20-year history, a significant milestone that speaks to both the strength of our founding vision and the promise of our future. Under Lisa’s leadership, Na’ah Illahee Fund is refining our narrative, mission, and geographical scope as we continue to advance environmental justice, food sovereignty, and economic self-determination for Indigenous communities.

This is an exciting new chapter for Na’ah Illahee Fund. With gratitude for all who have brought us to this moment and anticipation for the work ahead, we look forward to building upon our strong foundation to ensure a vibrant future for the communities we serve.

In partnership and gratitude,

Tim Lehman
