Daybreak Star Community Planting Work Days

Community Forest Restoration Planting Parties

In partnership with United Indians of All Tribes Foundation, and Green Seattle Partnership and Seattle Neighborhoods Na’ah Illahee Fund is kicking off our Community Forest Restoration Planting Parties with “Forest Week at Daybreak Star Cultural Center” Saturday November 4th, 10 am – 3 pm. This is part of the vision to create a Food and Teaching Forest so that Indigenous communities living in Seattle can continue to learn and harvest traditional foods and medicines. Na’ah Illahee Fund’s Youth Trails and Land Restoration Cohort have been working hard this past summer to prepare the land to receive 3,500 plants and medicines to be planted from now through Spring 2024.

We need community to sign up and register to help us welcome and plant these sacred medicines and foods in a good way. We ask folks to come prepared: warm clothes, water bottle, snacks and to bring their best selves to the work. Tools will be provided, but community folks are welcome to bring their own if they have any.

Each planting date has a different sign up link.
